Similar to in her previous video, Crunch Fat-Burning Pilates, many of the traditional Pilates floor exercises are performed here in a standing position, although Burn &amp; Firm Pilates does include a separate matwork section (see below).  The workout begins with a 5-minute warm-up consisting of simple movements such as marches and plies (there are A LOT of plies in this video!).  Following this, there was a 7-minute segment that is difficult for me to define; it was too slow-moving to be cardio and might best be described as light toning.  In this section, there are additional plies plus some basic ballet-inspired leg movements.</p>

Vaughn<br />Pros: I hate doing aerobics and I&#8217;m not into health clubs, but when it&#8217;s cold outside, I have to compromise, so when I saw this DVD on an infomercial, I gave it a shot. I love to dance and I love hip hop. From another site, I checked out how the actual dance aerobics were and enjoyed that enough to buy this (it&#8217;s a little too expensive though).</p>
<p>Fat Burning Cardio: Shaun T doesn&#8217;t go so fast that you can&#8217;t keep up, but just enough to keep you energized. Plus, the man is extra funny, especially when &#8220;Don&#8217;t Cha&#8221; by the Pussycat Dolls comes on. There are those who can count steps and there are those who can really dance, and from his body movement, I&#8217;m convinced he can really work the floor. This is by far the most fun I&#8217;ve ever had when doing aerobics and I plan to go through the whole 4-week plan, especially since Chicago weather is crazy anyway so I know I can&#8217;t jog everyday like I want to. Didn&#8217;t know he was an Alpha Phi Alpha until I looked at one of his sites, so that explains the frat hop dance he does, and that is my favorite part of the &#8220;Fat Burner&#8221; DVD.</p>
<p>Ab Sculpting: The abs are the most difficult part to gain muscle in but his workouts automatically make me feel the burn (yes, I know, very cliche to say). But surprisingly, it&#8217;s my legs that are getting the most workout just from the dancing involved.</p>
<p>Total Body Burn: That workout was hard. I&#8217;m sure it&#8217;ll get easier with time, but for the most part, I wanted it be over. On the other hand, I loved the music the most on this one, especially Lumidee, as well as the dances that resembled tribal techniques.  The second time around, however, this workout wasn&#8217;t so bad.  Still worked up a sweat (and I&#8217;m not a sweater so that was surprising) but not as surprisingly hard as the first time around.</p>
<p>Secrets to Flat Abs: Since I&#8217;d done the work-outs already, this stuff was kind of like studying for a test after you&#8217;ve already taken it and the scantrons are collected.  But if I&#8217;d done this first, it would&#8217;ve been useful.</p>
<p>Five Minute Workout: Speaking of exercises that&#8217;ll kill you, that one had me so worn out that I sat on my floor for about ten minutes and didn&#8217;t even realize I&#8217;d fallen asleep. It&#8217;s such a quick but fierce workout. You feel like you worked out that 22-25 minutes from the intensity of it.</p>
<p>Teach You How to Dance: I got a little lost with that one because he was getting excited with his choreography and some of the moves were a little old school and slightly drag queen, but it will be enjoyable for people who don&#8217;t really know how to dance.</p>
<p>Cons: Although he does hip hop dance, I have yet to hear a real hip hop song. This is more like dance/pop music, but it&#8217;s all good since I like a lot of that too and the language won&#8217;t get BeachBody in trouble.</p>

Poole<br />Let me start by stating that I&#8217;m a middle aged man who can&#8217;t dance!<br />So now you are probably asking &#8230; what was I thinking? This series of DVDs is clearly targeted at women, and the dialogue in the DVDs reflects that Shaun believes (probably rightly so) that the majority of the viewers are female. Well with that said, I can still say that I&#8217;m glad I bought this exercise series &#8211; even though I believe it was a late night insomnia induced purchase. </p>
<p>I was looking for something to help me work my abs that wouldn&#8217;t be total tedium and this one came with the added bonus that it would &#8220;teach me to dance&#8221;. Ok so here&#8217;s what I really got:<br />- an extremely well paced cardio workout for someone just getting back into shape. The Fat Burning Cardio routine is the best paced cardio routine I&#8217;ve ever done. High intensity moments are followed by lower intensity moments to let you catch your breath.<br />- a good motivator in Shaun. <br />- moves that are not boring but let&#8217;s face it &#8211; they are like dancing, so if you don&#8217;t like dancing in front of a group of people you won&#8217;t like doing them in front of the rest of your family. Trust me, they make fun of me still for the couple of times that they saw me working out with these DVDs. I exercise early in the morning now before anyone else gets up.<br />- and I felt better busting out a few moves at a wedding this past weekend but let&#8217;s face it &#8230; I still can&#8217;t dance!</p>
<p>There is something that I would also mention however, if you have bad knees then find something else to do. Some of the moves in these DVDs (even if following the low impact gal) are hard on the knees.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve been doing them now for two months and I still find myself enjoying it. I usually lose interest in exercise by this point so that alone should tell you that this is a good one.</p>

Peplinski<br />I teach Pilates several times per week, so my core is pretty strong already.  I love working my abs but I needed some more cardio in my life!  These workouts are incredibly effective, they worked my core in all new ways, and got my heartrate up for a nice calorie burn.  </p>
<p>So far my favorite is the Fat Burning Cardio, that was just plain FUN &#8211; I wanted to do it again as soon as I was done!  Ab Sculpt was fun and effective and even gave me some new ideas to incorporate into my weekly Pilates classes.  I didn&#8217;t expect too much upper-body toning out of these DVD&#8217;s, but the Total Body Burn had my arms begging for mercy!  I also expected the Last Minute Abs DVD to be nothing more than a lame way for Beachbody to increase my price, but that was HARD &#8211; 5 minutes felt like 50!</p>
<p>The greatest thing about all these workouts is Shaun T himself.  His instructions are clear and easy-to-follow, his encouragement doesn&#8217;t feel contrived, and he very clearly enjoys his work.  He sure makes me laugh and enjoy myself!  No workout can be effective if you don&#8217;t want to do it, but Shaun T keeps me coming back for more.</p>
<p>As most of the reviewers have noted, this doesn&#8217;t use &#8220;real&#8221; hip-hop music.  In fact, it doesn&#8217;t even use real pop music &#8211; if you listen to the singers and lyrics, you&#8217;ll realize that this is actually the royalty-free fake pop sold to aerobics teachers all over the country.  SO WHAT?  You&#8217;re not at a real dance party either, you&#8217;re doing dance-based exercises in your living room.</p>

<p>I&#8217;d  commend  at  very  least,  you  have  access  to  a  stability  ball  and  a  set  of  dumbbells.  There  are  a great deal of  numerous  ways  to  carry out  effective  full-body  workouts  with  dumbbells.  In  addition  to  training  at  home,  I  commend  to  do  galore  cardio  exercise,  at  least  3  times  a  week  for  30-60min  in  each  session.</p>

First  you  will  raise  your  heart  rate  and  secondly  you  will  boost  your  metabolism,  which  will  aid  you  to  get  rid  of  excess  belly  fat!  But  let&#8217;s  get  right  into  the  5  best  exercises  to  get  rid  of  belly  fat  at  home.</p>
<p>1.  Renegade  dumbbell  rows  &#8211;  Renegade  dumbbell  rows  are  a  killer  exercise  for  your  entire  core.  Your  abs  and  entire  core  area  must  stay  tight  in  order  to  do  it  the right way  and  this  needs  a lot of  practice,  but  it  is  unquestionably  on  of  the  best  exercises  that  support  to  get  rid  of  that  excess  belly  fat.  Start  the  exercise  in  a  push-up  position  with  your  hands  on  two  dumbbells.  Start  by  rowing  the  right  arm  to  your  side  and  keep  your  left  arm  tight  by  pressing  the  dumbbell  on  the  floor.  Then  lower  the  right  dumbbell  back  to  the  floor  and  get started  rowing  your  left  arm  by  keeping  your  right  arm  tight.  Start  with  a  light  weights  and  as  you  become  more  experienced,  increase  the  weight.  Do  as  galore  reps  you  may  may  within  a  30  seconds.</p>
<p>2.  One  arm  snatches  &#8211;  I  commend  to  include  at  least  one  snatch  exercise  with  dumbbells,  because  it  requires  a  massive  amount  of  work  with  entire  body.  This  is  very  easy  &amp;  safety  exercise  to  perform,  but  if  you  have  problems,  with  your  lower  back,  always  consult  with  the  doctor,  before  you  add  this  exercise  into  your  routine.  Start  by  keeping  the  dumbbell  or  kettlebell  in  one  arm  positioned  in  the  middle  of  your  stance  while  you  are  down  in  the  bottom.  Keep  your  other  hand  behind  your  lower  back  and  keep  your  entire  body  tight.  Thrust  the  weight  from  the  bottom  explosively  all  the  way  over  your  head  and  lock  your  arm.  Keep  the  working  arm  tight.  Lower  the  dumbbell  back  to  the  floor  and  without delay  start out  another  rep.  Do  12-15  reps  per  arm  and  do  the  same  with  the  other  arm</p>
<p>3.  Dumbbell  squat  &amp;  presses  &#8211;  This  is  a  outstanding  combining  exercise,  since  it  works  closely  your  entire  body  once  and  consequently  get started  your  fat  burning  engines.  Start  with  dumbbells  at  the  front  of  your  shoulders  and  squat  down.  When  you  reach  the  top  of  the  squat  position,  press  the  dumbbells  up  over  your  head.  You  may  make  this  workout  more  interesting,  by  lifting  the  dumbbells  and  squat  down  simultaneously.  Start  with  the  light  dumbbells  and  as  you  become  more  experienced,  increase  the  resistance.  Do  12-15  reps.</p>

You also need a small medicine ball to do the Rotator Cuff exercises. For most of the exercises you can use a 6-pound medicine ball.</p>

I&#8217;d  lift  my  legs  so  that  they  were  perpendicular  to  the  ground  and  then  undertake  to  touch  my  toes,  keeping  my  back  straight  and  my  abs  tight.</li>
<li>25  leg  lifts-  laid  flat  on  my  back  with  my  hands  beneath  my  backside.    Lifted  legs  approximately  6  inches  off  the  ground,  kept  for  2  seconds  and  then  lowered  my  legs  to  when it comes to  1  inch  off  the  ground.</li>
</ul>
<p>This  is  how  to  get  ripped  abs  for  me!    These  ab  workouts  for  6  pack  abs  are  easy  to  do  and  may  be  done  at  home  with  no  inconvenience.    Just  do not forget  to  find  a  new  ab  procedure  after  a  few  weeks!</p>

Abs  in  4  weeks!  Eat  the  junk  and  still  get  a  six  pack!  All  these  cover  stories  get  you  to  buy  the  magazine,  but  in  reality  these  are  unrealistic  goals.    Sure  if  you  run  15  miles  a  days  and  were  to  eat  just  grapes  and  prune  juice  you  would  lose  weight,  but  hardly  any individual  has  the  time  to  do  these  plans  or  would  want  to  eat  such  boring  feed  for  any  protracted  amount of time  of  time.    I  have  brought  galore  workout  books  over  the  years  and  they  tend  to  concentrate  on  the  exercises  and  when  it  comes  to  diet  it is  eat  more  protein,  eat  less  junk,  thanks  for  the  cash,  see  you  later.</p>

I  have  trained  on  and  off  for  when it comes to  ten  years  now  and  this  is  no  word  of  a  lie,  I&#8217;ve  in truth  learned  more  from  reading  this  book  than  I  have  in  those  ten  years  of  reading  all  the  fitness  mags.  I  like  the  fact  that  though  the  book  emphasizes  on  getting  abs,  it  also  provides  a  plan  for  building  muscle  all  over  your  body.  Myself  and  a  few  buddies  at  my  gym  have  all  been  following  the  muscle  building  plan  contained  in  the  book.</p>
<p>Nutrition  is  covered  extensively.  As  the  author  points  out,  forget  sculpting  great  abs  and  a  great  body  if  you  cannot  nail  your  diet.  I  have  learned  so  much  when it comes to  feed  I  could  write  my  own  book  on  the  topic!  The  meal  suggestions  were  outstanding  and  specially  liked  the  guilty conscience  free  desserts  that  were  listed.</p>
<p>I  like  the  approach  of  this  system  as  it  is  maintainable  not  just  short  term,  but  I  may  see  myself  sticking  to  this  for  years  to  come.  I  will  update  this  review  in  12  weeks,  but  wanted  to  write  something  now  as  I  am  soo  pleased  with  the  results.</p>
<p>Please  read  this  book,  for  beneath  $16,  it  actually  is  a  sound  investment.  Bravo!</p>

Jackie&#8217;s  scheme  focuses  on  form,  function  &amp;  fatigue.  Circuits  are  4  minutes  each.    The  aimed  body  share  is  worked  in  three  1  minute  exercises.    The  last  minute  is  what  Jackie  calls  &#8220;Power  Burn&#8221;  in  which  all  three  exercises  are  combined  to  fatigue  the  muscles.</p>
<p>On  the  main  menu,  there  are  5  choices  to  choose  from:</p>
<p>-  15  minute  Total  Body  Circuit<br />-  15  minute  Abs  only  Circuit<br />-  15  minute  Lower  Body  Circuit<br />-  15  minute  Upper  Body  Circuit<br />-  40  minute  Total  Body  Circuit  </p>
<p>Here&#8217;s  a  breakdown  of  the  40  minute  Total  Body  Circuit:</p>
<p>Warm-up  &#8211;  2  minutes<br />light  jog,  side  to  side  taps,  squat  kicks,  chain  breakers  (elbows  up-open/shut)opens  up  the  chest,  back  stroke  &amp;  trunk  twists</p>
<p>Circuit  1  &#8211;  Quads<br />  *Sissy  Squats  &#8211;  these  are  done  with  your  heels  on  your  weights.    You  may  choose  to  add  intensity  by  keeping  weights<br />  *UFCs  &#8211;  drop  down  to  one  knee,  then  other  knee,  up  one  knee,  up  other  knee  (I&#8217;ve  also  seen  this  in  one  of  Jillian&#8217;s  workouts)<br />                  to  add  intensity  on  this  move,  stay  in  the  squat  position<br />  *Front  Lunge  &#8211;  hands  on  hips  or  hold  weights  for  extra  intensity</p>
<p>Circuit  2  &#8211;  Hamstrings<br />  *Deadlifts  &#8211;  use  heavier  weights,  go  past  knees  and  come  up  with  a  pop<br />  *Bridge  Extensions  &#8211;  in  bridge  position,  alternate  kicking  legs  up<br />  *Reverse  Plank  &#8211;  these  are  a  killer  &#8211;  talk  when it comes to  BURN!!!  </p>
<p>Circuit  3  &#8211;  Glutes<br />  *Front  Squats  &#8211;  weights  held  up  in  front  of  chin  while  squat  through  heels  &#8211;  she  moves  fast!<br />  *Ski  Lunge  &#8211;  side  to  side  lunges,  uninterrupted  motion  &#8211;  felt  the  burn  =)<br />  *Squat  Kicks  &#8211;  squat  with  substitute  leg  kicks</p>

<p>Jackie  does  an  magnificent  occupation  all around  describing  proper  form.    The  circuits  are  short,  but  intense&#8230;.if  you  don&#8217;t  feel  the  intensity,  use  heavier  weights.  I  love  this  because  she  moves  quickly,  gets  to  the  point  and  moves  onto  the  next  circuit  &#8211;  no  boredom  here  =)  My  only  complaints  are;  stretch  at  the  end  seemed  too  short  and  I  wish  there  was  one  more  bicep/tricep/shoulder  circuit  b/c  arms  are  my  disturb  spot.  Everything  else  I  felt  was  worked  adequately!    </p>
<p>Holly  Perkins  is  the  only  team  fellow member  in  this  I  recognized.  It  was  pleasant  to  see  her  new  team,  the  group  in  her  initial  video  were  a  bit  too  over  the  top  for  me.    I  commend  this  for  all  levels  since  it  offers  modifications  for  making  it  more comfortable  or  harder!    Well  Done.</p>

I&#8217;m  an  avid  exerciser,  but  I  can&#8217;t  say  I  love  it.  I  work  out  because  I  have  to  to  stay  in  shape.  I  do  know  that  my  body  feels  lousy  if  I  don&#8217;t  work  out,  so  I  recognise  I  need  it.</p>
<p>Anyway,  this  DVD  is  a  godsend.  The  time  just  flies  by.  It  is  very  fast  paced  but  you  know  you  are  getting  a  good  workout  because  you  CAN  FEEL  THIS  the  next  day  and  the  day  after  and  the  day  after&#8230;.</p>
<p>I  am  a  Jillian  Michaels  fan  and  I  gotta  say,  Jackie  gives  her  a  run  for  her  cash  here.  Tons  of  bang  for  the  buck,  and  all  underneath  45  minutes!  She  hits  all  the  major  muscle  groups  and  teaches  you  in regards to  them  along  the  way,  which  ones  are  fat  burners  etc.  Each  circuit  is  in regards to  4  minutes,  you  do  three  exercises,  then  the  &#8220;power  burn&#8221;  which  is  the  3  exercises  done  all  at  once  right  after  the  other  without  stopping.  I  won&#8217;t  go  into  the  exercises,  as  another  reviewer  has  broken  them  down  for  you.</p>
<p>I  know  what  you&#8217;re  thinking&#8211;do  I  in truth  need  ANOTHER  workout  DVD?  Well  if  you&#8217;re  giving careful consideration to  getting  this  DO  IT!!!</p>
<p>These  exercises  are  NEW&#8211;well  to  me  they  are,  and  I  have  an  extensive  fitness  DVD  collection.  A  few  I  have  seen  before  but  the  majority  I  haven&#8217;t.  I  even  have  jackie&#8217;s  primary  DVD  and  this  new  one  blows  that  one  out  of  the  water.  Gone  are  the  cutesy,  baby-voiced  trainers,  all  made  up.  Now  Jackie  has  REAL  persons  working  out  with  her  and  she  does  the  work  too.  now and again  she  does  stop  to  check  out  form  and  educate  you  but  she  does  each  exercise  with  you.  This  is  no  nonsensicality  folks.  I  do  have  to  say,  since  this  workout  is  a  little  condensed,  the  warm  up  and  cool  down  leave  a  little  to  be  desired.  So  if  you  like  an  broad  cool  down  after  working  out,  pop  in  a  short  yoga  set  or  something.  Also,  this  is  rigorously  strength,  no  cardio  or  cardio  bursts,  just  a heap of  light  joggging  and  jumping  jacks  in  the  warm  up.  So  if  you  are  expecting  cardio  you  won&#8217;t  find  it  here.</p>
<p>And  strangely  enough,  Jackie  does  a  version  of  Jillian&#8217;s  &#8220;Surrender&#8221;  from  her  No  More  Trouble  Zones  DVD.  Jackie  calls  them  UFCs  here.  However  Jackie  does  them  without  weights,  and  I  may  in truth  do  them!  They  are  not  hard  on  the  knees  at  all!  So  if  you  guys  are  having  disturb  with  Jillian&#8217;s  &#8220;Surrender&#8221;  try  it  without  weights.  Believe  me,  you  will  still  feel  it!<br />As  much  as  I  love  Jillian,  I  have  to  say  I  haven&#8217;t  popped  her  DVDs  in  since  I  got  jackie&#8217;s&#8211;it&#8217;s  that  good!  Granted  once  my  body  adapts  and  I  don&#8217;t  feel  it  as  much  the  next  day  I  will  probably  add  more  Jillian  back  into  my  rotation.</p>
<p>Sorry  to  compare  the  two  so  much  in  this  review  but  they  are  both  very  similar  in  their  styles  and  if  you&#8217;re  unfamiliar  with  Jackie,  I  want  to  give  you  a  similar  example.</p>
<p>All  in  all,  a  outstanding  workout  and  fast  paced.  And  since  it&#8217;s  regarding  40  mins  long,  it&#8217;s  not  something  you  dread  doing.  You  will  not  get  bored  with  this  and  I  bet  you  will  feel  it  the  next  day.  Thanks  Jackie!</p>

They  may  never  hold  my  attention  and  I&#8217;d  much  rather  go  to  the  gym  and  take  a  class.  Unfortunately,  my  erratic  work  schedule  has  changed,  not  permitting  me  to  make  it  to  the  gym  for  my  bestloved  classes.  Now  I  work  out  at  home.  Tired  of  the  usual  work  out  routines  I&#8217;ve  been  doing,  I  decisive  to  give  this  one  a  whirl.  WOW!!!  After  when it comes to  2  months  of  doing  it  I  am  noticing  changes  in  my  body  that  I  haven&#8217;t  seen&#8230;EVER!  I&#8217;m  tone  and  cut  in  places  that  I  never  thought  I  would  be.  I&#8217;m  a  hard  critic  and  may  be  beauteous  cynical,  but  honestly,  this  DVD  works.  As  usual,  it  won&#8217;t  occur  over  night,  and  you  will have to  be  looking at  your  diet  as  well,  but  if  you  stick  with  it,  it  will  happen.  You  will have to  check  it  out  and  give  it  a  try.</p>
