31 of 32 people found the following review helpful.
Absolutely great
By A
I’m a bona fide Tae Bo veteran. I’ve been doing it for 4-6 hours a week for years, and I’m very accustomed to the Tae Bo II Advanced Get Ripped workouts, which are definitely in the “VERY DIFFICULT” category.

I’ve read many Tae Bo enthusiasts referring to this program as “intermediate,” and I think that’s a little bit misleading. Yes, it is shorter (45 minutes) than the older workouts, and its pace is slower.

But Billy really knows what he’s doing. If you do this workout CORRECTLY, it is actually extremely intense cardiovascular work, along with tremendous trunk/core muscle training.

What MOST Tae Bo-ers don’t understand is that your form is of paramount importance. I’ve taken several accredited Tae Bo classes, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen more than three or four people who were really doing the moves correctly.

Almost everyone I’ve ever seen do Tae Bo relies on momentum to execute the moves, especially the kicks. If you bounce your way through it, you’ll work up a nice sweat, yes. But you’re not going to be doing the workout properly, and your core (stomach, sides, back and rear) aren’t going to gain strength.

Tae Bo Cardio FORCES you to focus more on your form. And believe me, working muscles intensely is FAR more draining that hopping up and down, allowing momentum to flail your legs out in an approximation of a kick.

(…) I’ve worked it into my regular routine.

I’ve been doing Tae-Bo Advanced and Get Ripped for two years. While “Cardio” is not quite as challenging as the Advanced and Get Ripped series, it DID get my heart rate up.

Be aware that there are no floor excercises on this tape; ab work is minimal.

To keep my heart rate up between exercises, I tried the running in place moves from the advanced tapes instead of the “Butterfly” move. And, once I learned the new combinations, I went right into double-time rather than doing the first, slow repetitions.

Tae-Bo Cardio is decidedly mellower than the Advanced series– I am pleased that Billly has listened to fans who find his yelling and Shelly’s grunting distracting. Here, they tone it down.

This is a good companion video for anyone who does both Tae-Bo and Pilates, as I do. It’s low impact but it STILL gets that heart rate up, so it goes well with the Pilates philosophy.

For those who rely exclusively on Tae-Bo, call it “Billy Light”, and save it for those times when you’re not in the mood for shouting.

11 of 11 people found the following review helpful.
Fun tape for intermediates….more “refined”
By A
I have been enthusiastically doing Tae Bo Basic tapes for quite a while. This tape is about the same intensity as the other Basic tapes that I’ve done, except the length of the workout is longer and the pauses between combinations are somewhat reduced. I like the increased variety of combinations, and the longer tai chi style cool down at the end is also well done.

In some ways Cardio is more “professional” than previous Tao Bo productions, in that the moves are more choreographed and the cueing more scripted. However, like a previous reviewer, one of the things I’ve liked about Tae Bo tapes is how clearly Billy and Shelly’s enthusiastic personalities showed through, and to me they’ve sacrificed something of the chemistry of previous Tae Bo’s. On the other hand, people who haven’t liked the slightly out of control, over the top feel of previous Tae Bo’s may like this one. Nonetheless, I have no regrets about having purchased Tae Bo Cardio and will certainly enjoy working out with it.

Real cardio workout exercises come from moving around your own body resistance, period! Forget when it comes to the treadmill and elliptical trainers because those are only good for gathering dust and taking up space. You need to employ the use of your own body resistance if you are severe regarding getting a lot of real results. Check out the following 3 body weight drills I have included here for you for an extreme cardio workout.

Body Weight Exercises For Cardio!

1. Burpees: The burpee is a whole body calisthenic that is splendid for helping you to obtain a high level of both cardiovascular conditioning and muscular strength. This drill is performed with you executing 4 steps. Begin by standing with your feet at regarding shoulder width distance apart. From here the initial step involves you crouching down to place your hands on the ground. Step 2 involves you kicking your feet back behind you extending your body into an upright push up position. Step 3 involves you executing a normal push up. Step 4 ends the drill with you plainly standing up and preparing yourself to go through the entire procedure again.

2. Squat Jumps: Squat jumps are a tremendous body weight drill that is sure to elevate your level of sensed exertion and give you an amazing cardio exercise routine. Begin this drill by standing with your feet at shoulder width isolated in length. From here you are going to carry out a counter motion with your arms by swinging them back as you drop your hips and butt back to descend down into the squat. Once you reach the bottom of the squat you are going to forcefully and explosively carry through a triple extension of your hips, knees, and ankles with sufficient strength to propel yourself up off of the ground. When you come back down make sure to land heel to toe and triple flex at your hips, knees, and ankles in order to recoil your body and prepare yourself for the following jump. All of the jumps ought to be done in ceaseless succession for an uttermost cardiovascular workout.

3. Mountain Climbers: This is a immense cardio strength training drill that is sure to elevate your heart rate and aid you to torch the body fat. To carry through this exercise you will want to get into an upright push up position with one of your knees staggered and flexed up underneath your chest. The other leg ought to be extended with you supporting your weight on the balls of your feet in both legs. This closely looks like a sprinter’s get started position. From here you are going to forcefully and quickly extend the leg that is under your body and simultaneously flex the opposite leg bringing it up to your chest. Back and forth and in rapid succession you are going to perpetually switch your legs while keeping your hands flat on the ground. After only a few reps you will see why this is such a tremendous body weight cardio workout.

If you haven’t already started to implement the following 3 drills into your own uttermost cardio workout procedure then you are missing out. Take the time to learn more by accessing more of my articles on the subject for free. Remember that most any person may train hard, but only the best train smart.

The jump rope may be one of the best pieces of fitness equipment. It is a requisite for any person who exercises at home. If you’re not an experienced jump rope user go out and buy one now. It may be challenging at firstborn but you will get better speedily and then you’ll have a outstanding deal of fun jumping rope

What you’ll want to recognise before you buy a jump rope:

• The jump rope ought to be long sufficient that when you stand on the center of the rope with both feet you may lift the handles up to your underarms. A lot of jump ropes assert to be adjustable, but there are a heap of complaints that modifying them is no simple feat.

• Speed ropes do not include the plastic beads protecting the rope. Speed ropes may be a lot of fun when you are a capable jumper, but they sting when you hit your legs

• Speed ropes have a tendency to snap if they are applied many times on a high friction surface like concrete or gravel. If you buy a speed rope, protect your buy by only jumping on smooth or soft surfaces.

• If you’re only planning on jumping rope at home and you want a resilient rope then get a rope with plastic beads protecting the rope. Sure it does not look as hip, but it will be a lot more resilient and when you’re jumping rope at your house who are you attempting to impress anyway?

Several important jump roping terms:

1. Basic Jump – Jump with both feet at the same time over the rope. This is the beginning stage for most novices. Try not to double hop for each revolution of the rope. Instead, you will have to in the long run be competent to jump rope at a speed where the rope passes under your feet for each jump.

2. One Foot Jump – Jump over the rope while standing on one foot. Usually 2- 5 jumps are finished prior to switching to the other foot.

3. Alternate Foot Jump – This looks a lot more like running in place. Your feet substitute jumping over the rope. You will have to use a dissimilar foot for each revolution of the rope. You must have the capacity to do this rather a bit quicker than the basic jump.

4. Double Under – To carry out a double under, the person needs to jump up higher than usual and swing the rope quickly so that it completes two revolutions with one jump. This may be hard to master in the beginning, but finally you may get to the point where you are capable to do uninterrupted double unders without stopping.

HIIT Jump Rope Workout:

Warm-up:

Carry out 200 jumps utilizing both feet. The pace ought to feel comfortable; you are not going for speed. In case you falter, do not fret; just get started once more counting from where you left off.

Complete 200 One Foot Jumps completing two hops before switching to the other foot.

Interval 1:

Carry out 150 basic jumps. This time go as quickly as possible, but make sure you are not going so quick that you keep snagging the rope with your feet. Should you snag the rope three or more times before reaching 150 then you’re most likely attempting to go rapidly and without delay than your proficiency will permit. After reaching 150 speed jumps, finish 50 jumps at an active resting pace. This pace will need to feel comfortable and relaxed. Take two little hops per one revolution of the rope if it helps you to slow down. You genuinely can not go too tardily allround active recovery, but try not to come to a full stop if you may help it.

Interval 2:

As speedily as possible, finish 150 one foot jumps, jumping twice on each foot prior to switching to the other. After reaching 150 one foot jumps, finish 50 jumps at your active resting pace. Use double hopping jumps if it aids you to slow your pace.

Interval 3:

Perform 150 substitute foot jumps as fast as possible by running in place while jump roping. Right after reaching 150 speed jumps, carry out 50 jumps at your active resting pace.

Interval 4:

Casella
I started a jump rope workout and wanted to take it to the next level. I spotted this book and thought it would be just what I needed. While it is an informative and thorough book about the sport of jump roping, it’s difficult to visualize the many jumps they describe without actually seeing someone do them. Soon after receiving the book, I purchased the DVD and found it much easier to learn the jumps. I could clearly see the correct placement of their feet, arms and hands in motion and, at the same time, try to imitate their rhythm. Jumping rope is all about timing. If you don’t think you need visual instruction, then this book is fine. If, like me, you prefer a live demonstration, skip the book and buy the DVD instead.

And this book presents it all perfectly. I was fitness instructor back in the Army. Too bad we didn’t add this into our routines. I have severe arthritis; recently a hip replacement; and a groin implant. I’m 58; can’t jog anymore. But, this is far superior to jogging. Or even doing windsprints. All things considered, this is really the only type of workout anybody needs. My cholesterol was high; now it’s normal. And my blood pressure is textbook perfect. Even better than when I was young. Signed: Meshugena Mike

Hackney
I am a 45 year old man, who had open heart surgery two years age. I have totally recoverd from that, but am still looking for ways to fit a good cardio workout into my schedule. I bought this book after hearing that 3 min’s of vigerous rope jumping was as good as 30 minutes of jogging (this was from a pamphlet in my cardiologists office).

The things I did not like about this book were:
1) Repetion of content. It seems like the book is filled with too many unneccessary testimonials in sidebar calllouts of how great jumping rope is.
2) the constant reminder throughout the book on how cool and beneficial jumping rope is.
3) One thing you don’t know about until you get the book is about how much the auther will suggest that you should jump rope to music, so it’s almost like am aerobics class.

I gave it two stars because it was a rather inexpensive book and I did learn some good basic things from it, like:
1) what the proper length of a jump rope should be
2) proper arm/wrist use and common twirling mistakes

All in all, I was more turned off to jumping rope after reading this book than inspired, and will just go back to my treadmill, but that may just be what’s right for me.

For decades we’ve been encouraged to add up to 1 hour of cardio per day to our already busy schedules. However, not only is this recommendation unrealistic for most people, it’s altogether unnecessary and may even be downright unhealthy!

Conventional cardio, does NOT beef up our heart and lungs as we’ve been led to believe – it actually does the OPPOSITE! (especially when done excessively)

Here’s why…

Long ‘steady state’ cardio workouts forces your body to adjust and become more effective to the exuberant demands we’ve enforced on our body…and it does this by gradually reconstructing our heart, lungs, blood vessels and muscles as little as possible. The end result of this ‘downsizing’ is that we’re robbed of critical reserve capacity.

What is “Reserve Capacity?”

Reserve capacity is the capacity of your heart and lungs to withstand a sudden increase in cardiac demand. In real life there are and there will be circumstances that put our bodies under stress and require our heart and lungs to be up the task. Heart attacks don’t occur because of a lack of endurance, they occur when there is a sudden increase in demand that outperforms your heart’s capacity.

And here’s the problem…

Conventional steady state cardio does NOT build reserve capacity! Exercising for long periods might make your heart more adept at handling a 60 minute jog, but it’s at the expense of providing you with the capacity to quickly provide cardiac output when you actually need it.

More readily available cardiac output is what we genuinely need. So when we push for dandier and more outstanding endurance using conventional cardio, it actually gives rise to the opposite to what we in truth require in our day to day lives.

But there’s even more BAD NEWS…

Ground-breaking studies of long distance runners disclose that after these workouts, blood levels and oxidation of LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides is markedly increased. They also found that prolonged running disrupts the remainder of blood thinners and thickeners, elevating inflammatory elements and clotting levels, both signs of heart distress.

A study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism also found that long distance runners had scaled down bone mass and an increased danger of osteoporosis. Conventional long duration cardio may even make you age faster!

(If you’ve made the observation that a big ratio of endurance athletes have more wrinkles and age quicker than most, it’s no coincidence…)

It all has to do with the fact that long duration cardio gives rise to exuberant amounts of cardio create free radicals at an alarming rate. Unless these free radicals are ‘mopped up’ by antioxidants in our diet, (endurance athletes and heavy exercisers need to pay very particular attention to their nutrition and require a great deal of more antioxidants than the intermediate person) our immune system may become compromised and make us more susceptible to colds, flu, illness, even degenerative disease and cancer.

“What regarding burning body fat? I thought low intensity cardio and working out in the ‘fat burning zone’ was the answer?”

The myth of the ‘fat burning zone’ has been around for a while. While it’s unfeigned that a more outstanding portion of fat is burned when working out at a lower intensity, it’s the total calories burned that genuinely matters!

For example, it’s been proven that if you work out at a higher intensity using interval training (but for much less time) you’ll burn significantly more calories after the workout has finished. Up to 9 times more to be precise! In other words, each calorie your burn from interval training burns up to 9 times more body fat than a calorie burned for the duration of steady pace exercise. Therefore, interval training has MAJOR fat burning potential!

To put this in perspective, to match the results you’d get from a 12 minute interval workout, you’d have to burn off 9 times as a great deal of calories jogging! (easily 1 hour of jogging or more) Long duration steady state cardio breaks down precious muscle tissue and diminishes our fat burning ability…

Long duration, low intensity cardio training formulates high concentrations of a hormone called cortisol. Cortisol promotes exuberant muscle tissue breakdown and a lowered basal metabolic rate (the rate at which you burn calories.) This is why, over time, long duration steady state cardio may genuinely make you FATTER! Will long duration cardio burn some bodyfat? Of course! Just nowhere near as much or as expeditiously as interval training.

The Marathon Runner Versus the Sprinter

Due to the nature of their training, long distance runners oftentimes experience muscle wasting, have a low reserve capacity, and are more likely to suffer from joint and bone problems. Contrast this with a sprinter whose training focuses on short bursts of intensity, the sprinter have a tendancy to be more muscular, has a much higher reserve capacity, and has dandier bone density.

What when it comes to fitness? Interval training is vastly superior for bettering fitness!

Interval training has been demonstrated as one of the most effective means of bettering fitness. One study in peculiar (Tabata studies 1996) equated 2 groups of exercisers. In Tabata’s study, one group did a full 60 minutes of low to moderate intensity exercise 5 days per week. Group two likewise trained 5 days a week except that this group performed up to eight 20-second sprints of high-intensity cycling with a 10-second rest (pedaling at a much slower rate) in between. This was preceded by a warm up and followed by a warm down.

Total exercise time? Just 4 minutes! (No, that’s not a misprint!)

The results were extraordinary. Tabata found that athletes on the high-intensity interval training programme increased their fitness levels much more immediate than athletes on a typical endurance training regime, all this in spite of the VAST divergence in the amount of time each group expended working out.

Participants in the studies who did the 4 minute workouts not only increased their capacity to do anaerobic exercise (the type of exercise that features bursts of high intensity) but likewise their aerobic capacity (typically performed at a steady pace with the idea of constructing endurance.) Whereas group 1 showed no anaerobic fitness increase and a 10% increase in aerobic fitness, group 2 showed a 28% and 14% increase respectively…and all with only 4 minute workouts!

Unbelievable but TRUE!

Granted, the intervals used in the Tabata studies are too intense for the majority of us, which is why Body Blueprint Personal Training has designed specialized workouts that uses time frames of 12 minutes up to a greatest or most complete or best possible of 20 minutes. Not only is interval training fantastically time effective and magnificent for fat burning and fitness, it builds crucial heart and lung reserve capacity.

Some final words when it comes to traditionalisti cardio

Here’s a very indispensable question to ask: “In light of the selective information presented, may we in truth say that the humane body is designed to cope with the demands of repeated, long distance cardio training?”

Based on a great deal of studies citing the damaging effects of traditionalisti cardio on the humane body in terms wear and tear, loss of muscle tissue, the decline in heart and lung reserve capacity and more.

Despite what you may have been led to believe, the answer is a resounding NO!

Is low intensity, long duration cardio ok from time to time?

Of course! Some exercise will always be better than no exercise at all. The real problem is when steady state cardio becomes the ONLY type of cardio exercise you do on a regular basis. From a health perspective, it’s potentially damaging. And from a time perspective, it’s fantastically inefficient and time wasting.

CONCLUSION:

Incorporate interval training into your fitness program today and start out reaping the enormous health benefits.

One of the main sticking points to any weight loss routine is after a while it gets mundane. To do the same thing over and over again, in particular when it comes to weight loss, shows no real appeal to the intermediate daily person in society.

The fact remains you need to carry out a heap of type of cardiovascular activity, three days per week, for twenty minutes per session. If you look at the overall amount of time you have to allot equated to the total amount of time you are given in a week that translates to just one total hour out of your entire one hundred sixty-eight hours.

If you may keep it in this perspective you are already in front of the game. Now let’s talk regarding what we may do to make it more fun so that even though it is for only twenty minutes, it will have to not be a boring twenty minutes.

I own an iPod. I think it is one of the best electronic appliances out there when it comes to working out. I do not own a top of the line model; in fact it is a refurbished nano that I purchased off of eBay for a in truth good price. Since owning my iPod I have loaded it up with in a literal sense hundreds of songs. After a while it came hard to find songs to put on there. Who would have thought that you could fit each single song you ever heard into a device that fits in your pocket?

You do not have to own an iPod as any MP3 player will do but whichever you choose make sure it holds a lot of songs and that you may set it for random play. This way when you are listening to music they never come out in the same order for the duration of any cardio session.

Listening to your music while performing your routine will make your cardiovascular routine more interesting and more fun. I look forward to my morning cardio procedure where I may dawn the ear buds (in my day they use to be called earphones) and listen away. My twenty minutes goes by so fantastically fast.

Of course the data you put onto your iPod/MP3 player does not just have to be music. You may add business podcasts, sports recasts, motivational speakers’ messages and the list goes on and on.

If you ever want to get an idea of just what you may put on your iPod visit iTunes and take a look at the podcast store. Most podcasts are free and range from talking regarding your favored animals, to religion, sports and everything in between. There is such a immense array of info to choose from that not only may your cardiovascular routine be fun but also educational.

The possiblenesses are unlimited for the selective information that you may listen to, but the essential thing here is if you want your twenty minutes to go by fast and be fun, invest in one of these devices. They may cost anyplace from $20 up through $200 depending on how modern of a product you want to get. I commend you keep it simple. Make sure it may hold a minimum of 200 songs and has random (also called shuffle) play. With one of these gimmicks your cardiovascular procedure will never be boring again.

There are a lot of forms of Cardio exercise. Some of the most popular include swimming, walking, jogging, rowing, biking and of course running. But none of these exercises simultaneously provide high resistance to support athletes in burning further calories and getting a outstanding Cardio workout.

Using resistance bands for Cardio exercise is one of the best methods of elevating your heart-rate and burning calories while building strength and toning your muscles. In essence, using resistance bands may give you the most finish workout imaginable.

While a weight loss program will have to include Cardio and nutrition as well, resistance training plays a key role in this process. People who lose weight through diet only have are doomed to have a significantly harder time keeping it off than those who exercise and eat well.

While it might be easy to think of resistance training as a strictly strength-building and muscle-toning practice, it is crucial to do not forget that completing circuit training with resistance bands is one of the best ways to get a full-body Cardio workout.

Some thing to do not forget when you’re using resistance bands for Cardio-training:

- Intervals are Key: That’s right, you don’t have to bust your bum for hours and hours on end to get the gains of Cardio training. The best way to lose weight by burning calories is to implement Interval-Training. This means doing short circuit training routines that elevate your heart-rate to near your greatest or most complete or best possible and keep it there for a few minutes. Interval Training demands that your body improve it is oxygen-absorption and distribution.

- Shorten the rest: If you think yourself a master of the interval already, be sure to challenge yourself. The easiest way to do this is by shortening your rest time. If you haven’t totally recovered before you get started your next circuit then you’ll have to work extra-hard to get to the end in one piece. This is where you’ll get the biggest gains in Cardiovascular fitness and muscular endurance.

- Think big: Focus on huge muscle groups and steer clear of isolating exercises. The more muscles that are being employed at once the better!! If you can, combine multiple exercises into single reps so that you’re hitting everything at once. There’s no gain to doing single arm curls here if you want a Cardio challenge. Stick to the huge exercise, squats, shoulder presses and combining exercises that implicate your entire body.

- Speed isn’t everything: Yes it is essential to do as numerous repetitions as possible when you’re attempting to get your heart-rate up, but don’t sacrifice quality for quantity. Getting through each repetition to completion makes it that much harder next time. This is a good thing! Stay tough and work it out. The gains come to those who FINISH THEIR REPS!

- Legs, Legs, Legs: While every one wants that ripped upper body (and resistance bands may surely deliver this) it’s primary not to forget that your Legs have the biggest muscle groups in the body. Work them too! If your legs are sapping oxygen and blood from the rest of your body you’ll be putting more stress on your heart to keep up when you begin working your upper-body. The flow-on effect will be to increase your heart’s capacity to pump blood and oxygen, hence increasing your endurance and Cardio-capacity.

- Go for broke: The best athletes in the world get to where they are because of an edge, but it’s not always a physical vantage that they possess. Being mentally tough is critical to preserving a high-quality Cardio workout. If you feel like giving up you in all likelihood will. Be strong, think big and push yourself to make it through each single rep and each single circuit.

- Change it up: Don’t be scared to change your resistance while you’re exercising. If you’re exhausted and thin you can’t get through another circuit, put down the high tension band!! Your muscles are aching for a reason, they can’t sustain this forever. But they may do 1 more circuit! Before you pack it in, graduate a lighter cord (Single-Handle cords are far superior to clip schemes in this way) and go again. Your body will pain but keeping your heart-rate up for another 10 minutes is going to yield amazing results.

Lastly, do not forget to get enjoyment from yourself. There’s not one thing worse than doing a circuit routine that you hate and dreading your next attempt. Help yourself to motivate yourself. Try something different, add remainder exercises and core-training movements. These require concentration and that’s always difficult to maintain when your body is under stress.

Always do not forget to use high-quality Resistance Bands. There are a great deal of imitators in this sort of market. Be sure to pick the band (and brand) that offers a lifetime warranty as this is a sign of authenti quality manufacturing. If you value your exercise and your body, go with quality.

Cardio Core Circuit

A challenging interval program with a distinguishable blend of pure cardio, cardio/core and pure core exercises. It’s all in particular well-cued and well-designed (with natural transitions and effective sequencing). Most intervals are classic Cathe-style fat-burning – high-intensity plyometrics like air jacks, lateral jumps and squat jumps. But some of Cathe’s aerobic divisions likewise incorporate fast-paced ab toning (e.g. mountain climbers and squat thrusts that in truth work your core). The pure core intervals only last a couple minutes, but they’re tough too (e.g one-leg push-ups and “triangle choke holds”). Superb cuing. ©2009. Level: Advanced. Length: 51 minutes.

I love this workout. It’s unquestionably a tough one and one geared towards progressed exercisers. This is one of my favorites from her Shock Cardio series.
What I loved in regards to this workout:

Pros: Very tough workout. I prefer a challenge. Instructor not annoying, good cues and counting.

Cons: Personally, I prefer not having to get down on the mat, then get up, down, up, down. This had a lot more of those moves than I wanted. I understand this kind of thing is ordinarily what helps add intensity and makes the workout as tough as it is (the roll back on mat, straight up to standing jump up was horribly hard) so for most humans this would probably be a pro. Some humans may not like the high affect aspect (lots and lots of jumping) which was ok with me (also not loving it, but ok.) Lastly, the mix of moves was, well, awkward — MMA moves mixed in with more traditionalisti aerobic dancey/prancey moves.

My reasons for not liking this are more subjective and personal so I think most persons looking for an innovative workout will like this.

These exercises works your entire body, in further and added to fabricate the 6 pack abs at the same time. So you are not working

directly your abs. The gains are simple. You strength the body work harder, in other words I call this as a high intensity workout,

because you are hitting more muscles than just your midsection and naturally working with the various muscles at a time, the actual

target muscle will stimulate much better.

To make this ab workout even more efficient, we are using tri-set technique. It’s a similar to a super-set technique, but

you are performing 3 dissimilar exercise, each one after another with no rest amid sets. This make sense, when you are attempting to

burn fat and stay as lean as possible.

How a great deal of reps, sets?

For the best results, I commend to make 3-4 sets each exercise. After you have performed these three exercises, rest 1 minute or longer,

until your heart beat decreases and breath becomes steady.

Do approximately 8 reps of renegade dumbell rows and front squats. If you wish, you may add 2 sets and do less reps, for example 5-6.

Your mission is not to over spend all of your energy to one exercise, rather to make 8 reps and save your energy for next exercises.

Mountain climbs may be done for a time interval. This is a light exercise, for example you may do as some reps as you may within 30 seconds.

My 3 best abs exercises for six pack are:

1) Renegade dumbbell rows

Take two dumbbells in each hand and get yourself in a pushup position. Start rowing one dumbbell at a time while stabilizing your body with the other arm.

At this position squeeze your entire midsection. Lower the weight back to the starting position and substitute by rowing the other arm and stabilize your body

with the other arm.

You will formulate an unbelievable stress to your entire midsection and trust me, it is more powerful than any crunches or sit ups, you have done before.

You may choose the heavier dumbbells to increase the stress level, but I recommend, that you learn the right technique first.

2) Front squats with barbell

Front squats are similar to regular back squats, but in front squats, you will achieve the dandier pressure to your midsection. That means, you

will strength your ab to work harder while keeping your body in balance.

Grap the barbell on your front shoulders and stabilize the barbell by crossing your arms and pushing your fists into the bar versus your shoulders while

keeping your elbows out in front of the body. You must learn the technique decently first, before you take heavier weights. Try to keep your elbows

slightly upwards to let the bar rest on your shoulders. This exercise is on of my best full body exercise, even even though this is primarily a leg exercise, you will

work the abs as well.

3) Mountain climbers

Mountain climbers are an effective exercises, that you may do in closely everyplace and it’s easy to perform. Starting in a pushup position, get started suffling your

feet alternately in and out, so that your knees are moving in under your chest and then back out to starting position. It’s like climbing a mountain, but instead

going to the Himalaya, you are doing this exercises flat on the floor. If you want more modern version, you may shuffle your hands 8-10 inches forward and backward

in addition to the leg movements.

- This is another great full body exercise. After doing all three sets 3-4 times, you’ll abs commence begging mercy!

- Try to systematically variating the order of exercises.

- Increase the resistance (weight) in each workout or decrease the amount of time. Remember to keep the workout challenging and ascending!

These are my 3 best exercises for six pack abs and you must unquestionably undertake these in your workout. Actually these compound exercises works far more better

to build 6 pack, than basic ab crunches or sit ups that works directly to your abs.

I applied it after I had my daughter and it gave me a flat stomach in no time. I’ve tried, cardio, pilates, yoga everything since I had my son 6 months ago and not one thing seem to work. So I wanted to upgrade my “Original 8 min abs and buns” VHS to the DVD version and purchased this. I tried this and I have to say I am very unhappy with the workouts

I did not feel the abs workout except for 2 routines. The buns and thighs workout was more or less the same. If you have weak knees and back you will not be competent to do these efficaciously because most of the excersises are lunges of galore sort and squats. In the Original the exsercises felt better on the knees and I felt that I have had a good workout on my muscles after the 1st 2 or 3 minutes itself. The arms division in this is good (not better but good) on this.

Some find the initial cheesy because of the 80 style and the commentary. But I think it is better cause the instructor reminds you to keep your posture better and keeps of motivating you (although in cheesy ways) to go through the routine.. In this dvd I was getting bored after the 1st 2 minutes.

Now if you have not employed to the original, this would seem great. Since I was looking to replace the basi (VHS) version this was a dissapointment to me.

Griffin
I in truth like this DVD. I work out regularly and this had me sweating big time! And I am rather sore! As you get more advanced, add weights. They’re great, basic (and beyond) exercises.

I like that you go through the sections so you have a probability to breathe in amidst as it sits at the main menu waiting for the next selection. Get a heap of water, catch your breath and move on without having to pause, rewind, etc. You just click on the next division when you’re ready to go.

Wasn’t sure what to think of something with “8 minutes” as the description, didn’t seem like you may get gain out of that, but when you put the 5 subdivisions together you get a good, 40 minute workout. And you’ll feel it in each portion worked! What’s tough is the “buns” section actually works your legs too and then when you get to the “thighs” section, you’re working them again. So they in truth get a good workout!

And the price is great! Overall happy with this purchase.

I was sore for days after. With 8 min subsections I didn’t think I would get much workout, but with them combined to a 40 min workout it genuinely burns. I will be including this steadily in my workout regime.

My only complaint is their is no feature to run all the segments, you have to go back to the main menu after each section.

Love it! Love it!
By A
I have always been self-conscious of my abs, always wanting them to be more defined, tighter, looking better. I have an AbsWork machine and a Body Blade and have been using those for 3+ years now. I would procrastinate doing those workouts, so I decisive to give this video a undertake (mainly for the price), and I love it! It is quick, to the point and YOU FEEL IT BURN! The eight minutes go by quick and after two weeks my husband and I both observe a difference. I undertake to work out at least five times a week and it does not matter how much I use this video, I feel the burn! I commend this to any individual who wants fast results and a great procedure at that! Jaime is great at keeping you motivated and reminding you of the rectify way to do the exercises. The bonus Arms are a plus and I use the soup cans! Back in my younger days I loved to do aerobics, but the affect just became too hard for my joints. I have been exercise walking for with regards to 16 years now. Recently I have wanted to commence a good deal of sort of exercising, but just didn’t know what. I have lower back difficultnesses and I sure didn’t want to irritate that problem. I found that this tape is just the answer. It unquestionably gives you a workout, making your abs in truth burn. Also, the trainer is careful to stress how to take care of your back while doing the exercises. I think it’s great! The arms portions is an added bonus. Only after you do the tape will you realize how much you need these exercises. Now, I am thinking regarding purchasing the 8 minute buns video.

I only wish that I had done this sooner. The tape gives clear instructions and magnificent views of all the excercises. As a novice to crunches, this helped a lot. After a week of using this tape I was competent to extend the workout and mix it with the upper body workout without the use of the tape. The routine produced merely visible results within 2 weeks. The greatest result is the way it changes your posture. If you work at a desk, you’ll never believe the divergence it makes. Be aware: If you haven’t done these kinds of excercises before, you’re likely to tire out your neck before your abs the primary few times, but this changes quickly.

Grimsley
While I loved her most recent workouts (Yoga Meltdown and Shred it with Weights), they were very dissimilar in terms of her established style. 6 Week Six-Pack reminds me precisely why I started doing her workouts in the basi place. It is very remindful of 30-Day Shred and Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, with a mix of conventional exercises and a good deal of I’ve never seen before. She mixes weight training and cardio exercises, all of which focus on the abs in this case. She explains why crunches alone don’t work–you will have to blast off the fat over your abs with cardio in order for them to show. You never stop moving in this DVD, and you’ll get started to sweat quickly. It’s only regarding 35 minutes, so it’s unquestionably easy to fit in disregarding of your daily schedule. If you want a quick but hardcore way to get ripped, this is it!

I got tired just WATCHING! Jillian is amazing, as always! This workout is her best, and hardest, to date.

I did it for the introductory time yesterday…and I am SORE today! I’m in better shape than the intermediate woman my age (45). This winter, I’m doing 2-a-day training sessions: working out with Jillian’s respective DVDs @ 4am before work, then running either at lunchtime on the treadmill in the gym at work or after I get home in the evening around my neighborhood. I likewise do a long run on the weekend. I’ve run 20+ races in the past 3 years, including 7 half marathons and 1 full marathon. I’m not an elite runner, by any means; I’m more of a middle-of-the-pack runner, but my point is that I work out all the time, I’m in in truth good shape, but this workout KICKED MY BUTT! I had to do the ‘beginner version’ of a lot of the exercises, even though the girl doing the beginner modifications wasn’t using a handweight. I did.

Oh, and don’t be gulled just because it’s called ’6 week 6-pack.’ You won’t be laying on the floor doing crunches the whole time. As always, Jillian keeps it aerobic, working multiple muscle groups simultaneously. Your biceps, triceps, shoulders, chest, and back are going to feel the burn too because a lot of the exercises are done in plank, or some variation of plank.

I HIGHLY commend this workout! Absolutely LOVE it! Yes, I’m sore from doing it yesterday…and yes, I’m doing it again tomorrow!

If you’re a fan of Jillian’s style, you will NOT be disappointed!

I have JM’s 30 Day Shred, which I love. I necessitated something to help more with the abs and so I couldn’t wait to get this DVD. It is all I necessitated and more! I love the fact that there is cardio built in as I commonly do 10 minutes of jump rope when doing weight training. This one kicks butt and altho I’m only on Level 1, I will progress to Level 2 shortly as I actually receive pleasure from the burn! This is a winner, will be cycling this with the 30 Day Shred and a lot of other faves! I’ve lost 8 pounds since August using these videos and the trick is to do them each other day with a heap of kind of sustained cardio (30 to 40 minutes). I ordinarily jump rope or dance. Last but not least, DIET is key to losing! You have to genuinely cut out the sugar and breads.. all the carbs that bloat you, and eat more protein. Eat 5 little meals a day, balanced with protein and veggies and fruit. I have held my calories to amid 1100 and 1200 and try hard to eat only at meal/snack times and not in amidst (no BLT’s.. bites, tastes, licks!).. I promise if you stick to a 1200 calorie balanced WHOLE FOOD diet and exercise using Jillian’s DVD’s at least 3-5 times a week, you WILL lose weight fast! I was skeptical, but not anymore. At almost 50 years old, I thought it would be near totally unlikely to lose weight, inches and get in shape in less than 4 months, but I’ve done it! Good luck to everyone! This is an awful DVD!
