Stair sprinting and likewise stadium stair sprinting is an utterly fantastic way to fire up your fitness training regime! It is insanely effective because it may be done outside in the fresh air and sunshine, it requires perfectly no equipment, gives rise to killer conditioning, will give you the powerful and toned legs of a competitory sprinter and by the way it is supremely effective for weight and fat loss!

So how do you do it? The answer is simple in theory nonetheless you will find these workouts very challenging if you do them to the letter so please take it easy!

What you are looking for is a great flight of steps or stairs around in regards to 50 steps long. This number of steps will commonly grant you to sprint them in regarding 10 seconds and then take when it comes to 30 seconds to walk back down them to your starting mark. This symmetry of exercise and rest is when it comes to 1:3 which is just perfective for short burst interval training sprints.

After you have warmed up, then do one or two slow jogs up the stairs and walk back to your mark. If you are sentiment ready, warm and comfortable then up the ante and jump into your full workout by doing another 10 to 12 sprinting rounds. This workout will ordinarily only take regarding 10 to 15 minutes in full even incorporating a few jog rounds or pauses at the top or bottom so you will get a great calorie burning workout in only half or even a quarter of the time of a normal conventional cardio workout!

There are four main gains of stair sprint interval training workouts. As discussed above, they are outstanding time savers giving you fantastic results in a little amount of time. Stair sprinting also in spite of being hard, is genuinely fun and gives you nice potpourri in your training. Many persons love their legs to look great! Regular stair sprints will surely give you legs to brag in regards to and finally, any exercise that may get you outside in the sunshine and fresh air is a outstanding addition to your training!

A word of warning with regards to stair sprints is timely here. Stair sprints are not for everyone as they are rather challenging and require you to be in good shape already with good legs and joints. They are principally an intermediate to modern training method nonetheless beginners and less fit persons may still do them but you will have to do not forget to take it slow. Also, never, ever push or train through pain when exercising. Just test yourself by walking the stairs first, then jogging and at last going the full sprint. Listen to your body and don’t over exert yourself!

You may not have access to stadium stairs but do not fear! Any stairs or stairwell will do as well as sand dunes or even grassy hills. Again the key is in finding an area that takes you with regards to 10 to 12 seconds to sprint up and then another 30 seconds or so to get back down again. This will in truth fire up the gains of interval training and get everything going as it will have to be.

5Measured very high on calorie burn on my bodybugg, combines strength and cardio for magnificent results
By Chandler
CALORIE BURN: I’ll commence with this, giving careful consideration to that’s distinctively why we all buy the dvd, is it not? (Well, you do get a health boost as well…)and I own all the Biggest Loser dvds for a good comparison. I wear a bodybugg (the black arm band you see on the contestants of the Biggest Loser with a monitor attached) to measure my daily caloric expenditure with the most accuracy. Because of this, I am also capable to monitor how galore calories I burn for the duration of a specific workout and how a great deal of calories I burn per minute of a workout and how much my calorie burn increments after the workout. I mention this only so you know what I say is based upon scientific measurement, rather than sensed exertion. And this dvd is a high calorie burner! I have rather an broad library of dvds to compare it to since I use fitness dvds wholly to get my workout in 6 days a week. This is a new bestloved and truly, offered outstanding strength, toning, and calorie burn. You won’t aid but get results here. While a good deal of of her dvds have more cardio to burn more calories DURING the workout, because of the good strength training, and “HIIT” training, you will burn more overall with this one. (see my notes under “effectiveness” as to why) It did, however, burn less than her “Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism” and “No More Trouble Zones” dvd.

Im trying to get into better shape for football, i need to loose 20 lbs in 2 months. I started running stairs this week and i do 15 min of constant pace stairs in my home cause nowhere else around me has any, after jogging a mile. After all of this i lift weights for 15 min. and then do and hour of laps in the pool. I weight 240 lbs and im solidly built. Im just wondering what i could do to modify my exercises to get the maximum amount of calories burned. Also any tips on dieting would help. thx

haha. Ya that was a pretty exhausting argument. I can, however, see how one could perceive me as being conceited based on what I wrote, but I was only expressing my love of the sport. In the frontcountry, people are seldom if ever in a situation where they must physically exert themselves. It is extremely unnatural and unhealthy. Humans were not designed to be sedentary. I think that a very good way to compensate for this is competitive cycling. Any activity, however, will do it.
