5“Awaken the Diet Within” is a lifechanging book !

Over the years I have read a number of diet books. One expert after another sharing a dissimilar diet, none of which worked for me. Food combining, low carb, no-fat, over exercising, dubious supplements and other weight loss methods resulted in my necessitating to lose 40 pounds rather of the 20 I wanted to lose when I started.

Then I came throughout Julia Havey’s book. Julia is not a scientist, doctor, or nutritionist. Julia is a woman who weighed 290 pounds, wore a size 24 and hit rock bottom when she came across her spouse was unfaithful. Determined to modify her attitude and her life, she lost over 130 pounds, found new love and was crowned Mrs. Missouri!

She shares how she accomplished her weight loss in her book “Awaken The Diet Within” and she teaches how you may reach your weight loss goals too. Julia has been there. She grasps the pain and feeling of annoyance at being hindered or criticized of being overweight. The desperation at failing at yet another diet. And she knows that dieting does not work. Lifestyle and mental changes work. This is the key to “Awaken The Diet Within”.

Simple steps equivalent big results. Julie teaches you step by step what to do to get the body you want. There is no elaborated diet, strenuous workout or particular pill you have to take. You don’t need a PhD to grasp the book. It’s very clear and concise.

Reading the book is like chatting with your best girlfriend. Your friend has lost a ton of weight. She looks fantastic! And now she is going to tell you in simple terms how you may lose the weight you want too and she is going to root for you each step of the way!

As you work through the program steps, Julia includes advise on staying the course, building selfconfidence and so much more. At the back of the book is a handy buying goods list and a number of recipes including her widely known and esteemed veggie sandwich, healthful oatmeal cookies, mushroom salad, linguine with asparagus, pineapple pork chops and more. The recipes I tried were not only delicious, but simple to prepare with easy to find ingredients.

I in truth love this book! Julia makes the weight loss procedure so clear and simple. At last! Thank you so much Julia!

5No more counting!!

I will confess that I am a skeptic. I have tried each diet out there known to man and woman. With so galore diet books on the market these days, it is aweinspiring that any of them could convince an overweight person (me) to buy them. Julia did this for me in person.

I was at a local bookstore where I had plucked yet another great sounding diet book off the shelf and went to sit down to read it noticing the woman behind a little table to the side of me merchandising yet another great sounding diet book. There was no one sitting around us at the time so I gave her regarding 5 seconds to say something to me and of course, she did.

“Could I talk you out of buying that book?” She asked, and inside I cringed and thought, `Oh great, here we go!’

Over the next few minutes, I met a woman that was both down to world and very like me. She is a mother, and a wife, remarried to a fantasti man after being married to a not so fantasti man the original time around. She spoke to me with regards to taking things slowly, not attempting to lose 30 pounds in 10 days. About living your life now not waiting until you lose a lot of pounds or until every one else in your life is satisfied with their lives to do so. Most of what she said made sense to me. I ended up buying her book which she signed for me, and so far I haven’t regretted one penny!

Finally, a book that makes sense! No counting calories or points. No writing down each little morsel that passes your lips. What Julia proposes is a no-nonsense life style alter of self-improvement through self-motivation. Julia Griggs Havey details out a plan that takes things at your pace, if you don’t feel comfortable moving on to the next level then you stay where you are until you are ready to enter the next phase of your metamorphous to the brand new you.

My basi day reading her book brought regarding a question that I e-mailed to her and to my surprise she answered back promptly HERSELF! She answers all her own e-mails! If that isn’t devotion to others, then I don’t recognise what is.

Julia has her own web site, and will talk to you by way of e-mails, on-line chats, and even personal phone calls so I listen if you want. This book is not for anybody that wants to lose the antecedently brought up 30 pounds in 10 days but regarding a total life change. I highly commend it!

Julia does not ask you to give up everything and change immediately. She does not suppose you to commence your exercise program by running a marathon.     Hey steve im overweight but im runing about 3 to 3 an half miles every morning for a 45 minutes by the end im burning 1200 calories and what im wondering is how much calories should i intake?

    @pugzlie18 But what else can I do to slim down, when I run/jog and walk the distance I do I don’t get sore or anything, because I do it every night and because I play running sports in a league. Question can I slim myself down quicker, and keep some of the traits I have such as wide shoulders and muscular thighs which help me in my sports, espicially because high school football tryouts are in 2 months and I injured myself because it wasnt something I was used to doing so that is why I run

    I’m pretty big about football size I play sports ball hockey, basketball, baseball, and catch when I can 6 out of the seven nights a week I walk a mile or I run and walk a mile, but I see slight changes in my size even my Mom says I’ve slimmed down from the size I used to be but should I be doing more for example if I cant go out and run I usually do something like 2 sets of 30 squats with 3 sets of twenty jumping jacks, it goes JJ’s, 10s rest, 30 S’s, rest, 10 JJ’s, 30 S’s, 10 JJ’s.

    not have run for 20 + years and overweight , been weight training for 21/2 months and walking, now starting to run but joints hurt{ankles, knees, hips}any suggestions? { I can run a block and walk 1 or 2 and repeat my route is approx. 4.5 miles that I do 3 to 5 times a week} I will add that when I started I weighed 260 lbs and now down to 230lbs @5ft 10in

    What about overweight people with limps? What kind of cardio should they be doing. What about when they reach a disired weight and they want to tone up, what safe toning exercise should they do if the walk with a limp. I’m only 21 and I have a condition with limping and mild backpain.

    one thing did help me and it was counting protein .
    as far as doing cardio goes i wouldt advice anyone to run or do anything for a long time that means its not challenging their body and it can really wear on the hardware (the body)

    I SO AGREE.
    people might burnout their “traning happyness” as i call it when doing too hard workouts while i myself found out this IS NOT smart!
    doing smaller ammount of cardio more frequently IS a better choice!
    that is what i am doing today!
    then you can gradually up the intencity as you become better and more available mentally and physically!

    Atlantabootcamp,…you are correct! Big time correct. Calorie counting is for the birds. The scale and waist measurement tell the real story. If they’re not dropping, then you’re not losing fat no matter how many calories you count or think you’re consuming; and who could live long with that anyway. Long duration cardio….also long gone. Intervals are the way to go!!!! I also believe HIT lifting is the best as well. Low volume, few sets, few days, lots of rest, compound movements.

    Long durations of cardio watching Tv and while doing cardio? Calorie counting? Are you kidding me? Wow there’s way to much information that surpassed all of that madness. Get your **** out and work doing interval training and clean up what it is you’re eating. Counting calories….so does this mean those 100 calories oreo snacks are good? it’s 100 calories? Counting calories aren’t the way to go and that’s not a lifestyle you can live!
