Every man wants a outstanding looking stomach and while we will not confess it, having abs like the guys in 300 is desired. In order to achieve these great looking abs even though we need to know what the best ab workout for men are. Burpees:

Burpees are great for working on your core muscles as well as breaking a sweat.

  • Start in a standing position
  • Bend down to a crouch
  • Place your hands on the ground and kick your legs behind you; will have to be in a plank position
  • Do a push up
  • Jump your feet forward to a crouching position
  • Spring up from your crouch and jump as high as you can, do not forget to out stretch your arms and reach high.

Do at least 5 Burpees and add more to your sets as you get stronger.

Russian Twists:

Russian twists are a killer exercise and unquestionably one of the best ab workout for men that you may do.

  • Lay on a declined bench
  • Make it so your stomach and thighs are perpendicular to each other
  • Squeeze your stomach muscles and rotate your body in a half circle from right to left
  • This is one rep.

Do this exercise for one minute. If you want a real challenge remove the timer and do 20 slow reps each set. This time go from right to left and then left to right to finish one rep.

Plank and Stability ball:

This exercise seems like it must be easy and it even looks easy. But looks are not always what they seem. For this exercise you will need a ball and a bench.

  • Place your hands on a bench and put your feet up on the ball
  • When you have balanced yourself make sure you are in the plank position
  • Squeeze and hold your core muscles for at least 1 minute.

To make this exercise more challenging, alter the angle that you are keeping your arms.

Interval X Plus seems to be a alternate for Plyometrics for P90x grads. As Tony says in his intro, “Interval work is a lot more effective than popular cardiovascular exercise.” Plyo is one of my bestloved workouts, so I did not look forward to replacing it. This workout is only 41:30 minutes and thankfully so because it is HARD! I had to give myself extra breaks the basi time I did it. There is only one break in the middle, I feel this workout needs more little breaks while the Kenpo workouts need less breaks, but I guess that would defeat the aim of Intervals.

5An effective and intense workout

I love all things P90X, so of course I had to get the P90X Plus workouts. I had a bit of buyer’s remorse though, since I could never figure out how to incorporate them into my workout routines. I don’t like total body workouts and prefer to do splits. This wasn’t as much of an issue with this workout since it’s requiring little effort to fit cardio and core into a routine.

Beware P90X is not for the beginner. I suggest any person wanting to use P90X commence by making sure their body is strong, if you need, see your doctor first. This exercise DVD is not for the weak or sickly.

It’s a magnificent workout, but only for those who may handle the program.

I will carry on to buy my DVD’s from Amazon, but I will start out exercise with an posing no difficulty program, then work up to P90X.

    i love your videos. i got a question. so i used to be 240 pounds. i’m 150 pounds now but i have just a little extra skin (not too much—people can’t tell how big i used to be) and i can’t get a six pack because of it. i feel the six pack under the skin and when i let people touch my abs they are surprised of how hard they are. i just can’t see them. what can i do to make them appear? :( HELP!

    I’ve been working out for 2 month now (weight training, cardio)
    cutting all unnecessary sugars and junk food from my diet and eating veggies, eggs and oats. And i’m seeing great results i lost about 10 pounds already and i feel so much stronger and eager to work out. It is completely possible for anyone, you just gotta have the determination to put down that fast food burger and soda.
    Maybe eat half of what you do now, start small. Just know if you really want it you can have a body like hers.
